Jodi Gomez
Jodi Gomez is a Senior Educational Psychologist, registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC). Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Jodi worked in private practice for 8 years, specialising in the psychoeducational evaluation of children and adolescents experiencing difficulty in various domains, which included assessment of learning and cognition, academic achievement, social-emotional-behavioural functioning, speech and language skills, motor skills, and neurodevelopment. She lectured for a number of years on a Clinical Master’s program, worked within mainstream education and private schools, and provided consultation and assessment services for government programs and charity organisations.
Since moving to London, Jodi has been heavily involved in training clinicians in Paediatrics and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in the NHS. She has particular skills and focus on assessing the impact of ADHD and specific learning difficulties (e.g. dyslexia) on learning and education. Jodi now predominantly focuses on her clinical practice, working in both mainstream schools and alternative provisions throughout London, conducting psychoeducational assessments, teacher training, parent consultation and supervision for assistant psychologists.
At Harwood Child Psychology, Jodi enjoys working with children and adolescents of all ages with various presentations, and supporting parents in understanding their children’s profiles to ensure a promising prognosis moving forward – whatever that may look like for each individual. Jodi can conduct full educational assessments, including diagnosing specific learning difficulties (e.g. dyslexia), as well as gold standard ADHD assessment.
Alongside assessments, Jodi is skilled in helping parents navigate the complex schooling system for children with SEN, including developing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
