Over the past year, my 9-year-old daughter and I have both had the privilege of working with Dr. Maria, and we cannot thank her enough for the care, support, and guidance she has given us. She has helped my daughter build her self-esteem and develop healthier ways of expressing herself, replacing negative attention-seeking behaviours with more positive coping strategies. The progress we’ve seen has been incredible. Dr. Maria has also worked with me, teaching me practical tools to recognise early signs of emotional overwhelm and manage my emotions before they escalate. In addition, she has supported me through EMDR therapy to process past trauma, which has been a truly life-changing experience. Dr. Maria is kind, compassionate, and incredibly understanding. She creates a safe, supportive environment where you feel listened to without judgment. Her empathy, professionalism, and genuine commitment to helping others shine through in every session. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Maria to anyone looking for a skilled and caring therapist.

Did not work for our son with OCD. After about 15 sessions at £195 a go he still didn’t understand what anxiety is. He does not fully understand the strategies needed to help him and we are back to square one with him screaming because he can’t cope. Yes his therapist was kind but I don’t think he was pushed out of his comfort zone to get on board with standing up to the OCD so for that reason I wouldn’t recommend for children with OCD.

Our experience with Harwood, and specifically with Jodi Gomez, Senior Educational Psychologist, was reassuring, smooth, and straightforward from start to finish. I was on the waiting list for a diagnosis for my daughter with the NHS but the process was taking too long. I chose hardwoods as a recommendation from a family member. From start to end the support was unprecedented. All the appointments were easy to get to and find. They were accommodating to her needs and ours. Even after the diagnosis there is so much support that can be accessed which you don’t always get. All the staff who we encountered were very professional and relaxed which made the whole experience as smooth as possible.

Dr Kiran has been an incredible support to me as my family and I work on a very personal and at times challenging journey - she has made what could have been a difficult and stressful process, easier and more human, approaching difficult topics with compassion, and empathy and always being highly professional and sharing valuable insight and offering ideas and solutions that are tailored to work for me and my family. Harwood Child Psychology made the process for ADHD evaluation for my son very easy. I was impressed with the depth of the report and the information provided however it did take a while to have a post-diagnosis consultation. After diagnosis, Dr Maria helped my son to start to develop strategies for managing his ADHD that were age appropriate.

Having been repeatedly told by CAMHS that our daughter did not meet the criteria threshold to be seen by the NHS, we then started looking for private help. I got a few recommendations and approached a few companies - Harwood were the simplest, easiest and quickest people to get back to me. From our first consultation, both my daughter and I felt seen, heard and listened to in a way neither of us had experienced before. There was a sense of assured calm which took us away from the emotional storm we had been living in for years. It did not take long to be seen initially, and it did not take long to have the diagnostic appointments and to receive the report. From Mid November from first appointment, to receiving the report mid February. Every person we have met along the way with Harwood has treated us with kindness and consideration and we could not recommend this experience highly enough.

We are parents of a 12-year-old child with AuDHD. We found Harwood Therapy through a recommendation from our child’s school teacher. As we had previously attended an ADHD parent course elsewhere, we initially booked only the ASD course. However, after a few sessions, we realised that Nadine’s approach was very different from any other course we had taken. We decided to add further sessions and switched to the AuDHD course. Nadine carefully reads the reports and diagnostic assessments we submit and works with us to develop practical, tailored strategies specific to our child. She helps us explore the root causes of the challenges, understand how they show up in everyday situations, and clarify what we should be working on right now. We find her approach highly practical and efficient. I would especially recommend this programme to parents who have already heard general explanations or treatment approaches but are struggling to implement them effectively at home. As these are individual sessions, the cost may feel high to some. However, the clearer you are about the challenges you’re facing, the more value you will gain from the programme

Thorough assessments but personable and so kind with my daughter. We had the full Autism and ADHD assessment with both my 11 and 7 year old who is very shy, and they were brilliant with both of them. Staff were friendly and quick to respond and we found the whole process excellent, especially the aftercare. We then had numerous sessions with Dr Maria - she was brilliant, made a real connection with my eldest, and helped her immensely.

From our first interaction with the team at Harwood we have been impressed with their professionalism, swiftness to respond and all round keenness to help and support our 8 year old son and us as a family. We contacted Harwood in June following an assessment and diagnosis of ADHD with another provider, we had our first appointment with Dr Felix within a month and now three months after that appointment and following further reviews, our son is stable on his medication, which we can truly say is life changing for all of us. Working alongside the team at Harwood has been a positive experience for all of us in the family - they truly understood the complexities involved and helped make our daughter feel at ease before and during her assessment. Harwood Psychology are just brilliant from start to finish. From making the initial enquiry and recieving a call back within hours, it was not too much trouble to answer all of our questions and explain the process. All of the documents and questionnaires were sent via email and straight forward to complete. There is a vast choice of appointments across a number of clinics to suit your own availability and we were offered a face to face appointment for our daughter within 3 weeks of making the enquiry! Dr Taylor was very patient and friendly and put our 14 year old daughter at ease throughout the assessments, this was a daunting thought for her and she was extremely anxious before we arrived. Around a week later the parent interview was carried out online again with another very friendly and reassuring Dr Choudhury. Throughout the entire process everything was clearly explained and we're always informed of the next steps. Around 3 weeks later we received a copy of the very thorough report detailing the assessments and their diagnosis. There was then a follow up consultation to discuss the report and the opportunity to ask further questions. Without a shadow of doubt we would strongly encourage parents to approach Harwood for an autism assessment for their child. The report was written in a way that not only helped our daughter embrace her neurodiverse identity but also highlighted her strengths as a source of empowerment. Compared to our son’s assessment, we found the structure of our daughter’s report even more helpful, offering clearer guidance on both short-term and long-term steps to ensure she receives the best possible support. We would have appreciated the same level of detail and recommendations in our son’s report, but overall, our experience with Harwood has been outstanding. After waiting over two years for an NHS assessment (with another year still to go), we made the difficult decision to go private. While it is undeniably a significant expense, if you have the means, we would highly recommend Harwood to any family seeking an assessment and diagnosis for their child. We have done an extensive research on London clinics that provide both assessment and post diagnostic therapy but found very few and none dedicated to children/ young people. From the very first interactions with the administration team at Harwood Clinic, it was clear the level of service being delivered - we received a first phone call to explain the entire process and where all our queries were answered. Making appointments was also effortless and quick. Dr Holly came across knowledgeable and experienced, made us feel listened, supported and demonstrated genuine care throughout the process. Our son really enjoyed his assessment session with Dr Holly, so much so he walked out of the room asking if he could come back to see her! It is not easy to quickly establish a level of confidence and trust with a young child but she did, and we are very thankful. We were really pleased to be offered a parenting course tailored to his diagnosis and we are looking forward for him to start his therapy journey with the clinic. Harwood Clinic is a place where all professionals come together to provide an all around care journey for children and young people and one we are grateful to have found.

We were recommended to Dr A Felix (psychiatrist) by an Aunt. Dr A Felix has been instrumental in helping us find the right medication for my brother with ADHD. My daughter saw Dr Felix online and this has been a life-changing experience. She was rejected by the local CAMHS services on three occasions without even an initial assessment, because the referral mentioned autism. However, Dr Felix was able to detangle the presenting problems from autism and offer appropriate treatment. Thankfully she is feeling better already.

I am so grateful for the help and support we have been given by Josh Harwood and his team. Undertaking an assessment for neurodiversity is an overwhelming and emotionally triggering endeavour, but we felt supported at every stage of the process. From when we first met, Josh made myself and my son feel comfortable in his care and made everything clear and easy to understand. The assessment was thorough and comprehensive and we felt great care was taken to ensure all the necessary information was gathered. Great psychologist, helped me immensely

We used Harwood clinic as the school raised concerns about my son being autistic and having ADHD. We were so happy with Dr Harwood and his team. They were professional and put my son at ease when carrying out the assessments and tests. The post assessment care, report and feedback session were super helpful. Josh in particular went above and beyond to reassure us and support the whole family with the new diagnosis. Having used 3 other clinics I could see the difference in care and attention. Doctors are qualified and used to dealing with teenagers struggling with mental health issues. Also they are kind and considerate - much needed at this difficult time for the family. My aunt who is a GP reviewed the report and said that it was the best she had ever seen as they used a variety of tools when diagnosing. Price was on on the high end, but on par with other clinics, and worth every penny. We only wish they had a clinic close to school/ home so my son could continue his care under Dr Harwood's supervision.

Superb support right from the get go. I had been looking for a psychologist for my 18 year old son after a disastrous experience with a psychotherapist and came upon HCP by chance. I initiated the enquiry and was swiftly and sympathetically dealt with by Dr Harwood who allocated us to Sunil Nandha. My son had several months of therapy, gradually diminishing from weekly to two weekly and then monthly. He is now discharged. Sunil has been life changing, providing my son with the tools and understanding to equip him for challenges to come. He says he feels like a new person and for us, our sunny boy has returned. I know Sunil will be there for him in the future should he need further support. I can’t recommend Harwood Child Psychology highly enough. Words can’t adequately express as a parent my relief and thanks.

Myself and my son had the pleasure of working with Dr Joshua Harwood and his fellow colleagues in June 2022. When I began the process of seeking an assessment for autism, adhd and learning difficulties for my son, i was slightly anxious to what this entailed and who would be able to provide the best possible service. The whole process was clearly set out from the beginning, I was made aware of absolutely everything and every step was explained clearly and precisely. When my twin 8 year old saw Josh they were comfortable and relaxed during their sessions with him. Josh is an expert at his job, it was easy to work with him.
