Support for Parents

How to help my child regulate their emotions and behaviour

Below is a series of videos Dr Harwood helped to develop, deliver and record as part of his role at the Centre for Parent and Child Support, an NHS service based at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Site. They are designed to help parents learn to manage the behaviour and emotional wellbeing of their children, aged 2-11 years.

The videos are an online version of the popular and evidence-based parenting programme called Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities. The face to face programme lasts for 8 weeks, however the information from that course is spread over the 16 videos below.

We suggest you watch the videos in order over a few weeks. Make sure to try out the tips on your children and get involved with the exercises! Watch out for Dr Harwood in sessions 3, 4, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15. There are great experts in the other videos as well.
