Senior Clinical Psychologist specialising in working with children, young people and families and neurodevelopmental conditions.

Dr Rebecca Morgan is a Senior Clinical Psychologist who specialises in working with children, young people, and their families. With Harwood Child Psychology she works across both our therapy pathway and neurodevelopmental assessment pathway.

Rebecca specialises in working with neurodevelopmental conditions and offers assessments and therapy for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and learning needs, including Learning Disability (LD). They offer strengths-based post diagnostic support for young people and their family.

Rebecca has worked in a variety of NHS child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) Rebecca currently works as senior clinical psychologist in the Tower Hamlets CAMHS neurodevelopmental team, which incorporates both therapy and assessments with highly complex cases where neurodiversity is suspected as being part of the presentation. This means that Rebecca is confident working with complex presentations as well as those more commonly seen in CAMHS.

Rebecca is passionate about working with children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties, including depression, anxiety, OCD, emotion dysregulation, social difficulties and difficulties going to school. She also has specialist skills working with AFRID, gender and sexuality, and unusual experiences.

Rebecca integrates family therapy approaches into their treatment, working to improve communication and understanding within families to increase harmony in relationships. She works from a strengths based perspective, aiming to work with the young person’s strengths whilst also teaching the skills they will need to thrive in the future.

Rebecca completed their doctoral training at the University of East London and has also studied at the University of Oxford, University College London and Institute of Family Therapy. They have contributed to and published research and opinion pieces on inpatients’ human rights, recidivism, and seasonal depression. They are currently conducting research into how family therapists understand safeguarding obligations.

They are a member of the British Psychological Society, the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice, and the Healthcare Professionals Council (HCPC).
