Dr Joshua Rumble-Browne
Dr Joshua Rumble-Browne is a Senior Clinical Psychologist specialising in working with children, adolescents and families. He has over ten years’ clinical experience working in NHS mental health services, including both inpatient and community services. His experience includes working in specialist services supporting people with neurodevelopmental conditions, eating disorders and learning disabilities, as well as working with foster and adoptive families. For the past five years, Dr Joshua’s clinical work has focused primarily on children and adolescents within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
Josh currently works in the therapy team at Harwood Child Psychology, offering both in person and online appointments.
Alongside his private practice, Dr Joshua works in the NHS as a Senior Clinical Psychologist within a specialist CAMHS service in North London. In this role, he conducts diagnostic assessments for ADHD and ASD, as well as providing psychological interventions. In addition to his multidisciplinary colleagues. Through this specialist role, he has developed the skills to work with and understand complex cases, and develop support plans for young people.
Dr Joshua works with young people experiencing a wide range of emotional, psychological and relational difficulties, including anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, attachment and relationship difficulties, emotional dysregulation, and family and parental conflict. He also has experience supporting young people who have a diagnosis of, or are undergoing assessment for, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as well as working with young people with physical and long-term health conditions.
Dr Joshua takes a flexible, evidence-based approach to therapy, drawing on his training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Systemic Family Therapy (SFT), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP). He carefully tailors and adapts his approach to the needs of each young person and family.
He aims to work collaboratively with young people and families to develop a shared understanding of their difficulties and identify practical, evidence-based ways forward. He focuses on building on existing strengths while providing young people and parents with strategies and skills that they can use beyond the therapy room, helping to translate therapy into meaningful and lasting change in everyday life.
Dr Joshua completed his Master’s degree in Psychology at the University of Bristol and his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Oxford.
