Dr Jessie Mee
Dr Jessie Mee is a fully qualified and HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, who specialises in working therapeutically with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families, who are experiencing emotional, behavioural, and mental health difficulties.
Jessie is part of the psychology team at Harwood Child Psychology and offers a clinic on Mondays at the London Bridge Clinic, and on Tuesdays at the Hampstead Garden Suburb clinic on Finchley Road. She is available for both online and face to face appointments. In addition to this, Jessie works in the NHS as a senior clinical psychologist in a child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS).
Jessie specialises in assessment and therapeutic support for young people experiencing low mood, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal ideation, emotion dysregulation, disordered eating, and obsessive compulsive disorder, often alongside co-occurring neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g. ASD or ADHD). All of her roles have included liaison with schools, safeguarding agencies, and wider professional networks. She is very comfortable supporting the more complex and hard to engage young people.
Jessie works extremely hard to teach the young people the skills they need to build resilience and have their own tools for managing their mental health in the future.
Jessie has worked across Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom, including roles within community CAMHS teams, neuropsychology and neurorehabilitation services, and a specialist Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) programme for those who experience emotions very intensely and are at greater risk to themselves.
Jessie takes a warm, relaxed, and collaborative, approach to therapy, working closely with young people and their families to understand the factors contributing to distress and to support meaningful, sustainable change. She uses an integrative therapeutic approach drawing on evidence based therapies, tailored to work in a way that is most suitable for the young person and their family. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness.
Jessie aims to create a safe and compassionate therapeutic space, and is skilled at creating strong therapeutic relationships, helping young people to feel heard, understood and empowered to become effective change makers in their own lives.
